I always have a goal. Personal, running, health, professional, small and large. It’s a way to keep motivated and have something attainable. Key word- attainable. I’m not looking to win the Boston Marathon or be on the cover of Runners World in 2014. I shouldn’t weigh 99lbs ever again and I know that. So here are my current goals, and how the progress is coming along.
Running- By the end of 2013 I would LOVE to have a sub-2:00 half marathon under my belt. I’m trying to focus on pace and speed during some of my workouts which is a major accomplishment in itself for me. I have plenty of chances for this goal lined up.
Academic- I currently have a 4.0 GPA in grad school. I am determined to keep that in tact through the next two semesters. There are times this will drive me absolutely insane and stress me out to the point of tears but I know in the end it will be worth it.
Fitness- I’m not 100% happy with my body at the moment. My tummy is softer than it should be and I am having a little more trouble than I’d like to admit fitting into my “skinny” jeans. I’m a size 4 (or 25) and I want them to fit comfortably. Without sucking in. Without any grossness hanging over. My goal is to lose 15lbs by the time I toe the starting line of the Cape Cod Marathon. Major diet tweaks coming, and I’ll keep you informed of some great healthy recipes I’ve been working on.
Personal- Read one full book a week for the rest of the summer. I know come September when my full class schedule kicks in I won’t be able to read a book for enjoyment very often. I have a “want to read” list a mile long right now so I think one book a week is a reasonable goal. So far I’ve read…
